MK3 Carbon Fibre Steering Wheel Upgrade - XR5 / MK2 RS

MK3 steering wheel upgrade to suit XR5 (ST225) and MK2 RS.

This is a complete kit made to fit directly into any XR5 (ST225) and MK2 RS.

The driving factor behind creating this kit was to modernize and simple the now very aging MK2 interior.

This kit looks great during the day however really shows it true colours during night time with the button lighting (switched on via headlight switch).

Steering wheel audio control buttons only work as intended with an aftermarket head unit that has a SWC (steering wheel control) learning feature - which most aftermarket head units do. If you are retaining the stock / original head unit, the buttons are mostly functional however they work in the wrong order. For example, volume down = volume up, voice control = volume down etc

This kit comes in 3 options:

OPTION 1:

Plug & play wiring & accessories only – Includes:

• All plug and play wiring
• Steering column plastic blank plate

OPTION 2:

Full kit - Includes:

• All plug and play wiring
• Steering column plastic blank plate
• Custom steering wheel
• Airbag (not brand new - used item can and will show signs of exiting wear and tear)

As option 2 includes a factory original MK3 RS steering wheel - not brand new, this used item can and will show signs of exiting wear and tear.

OPTION 3:

Full kit - Includes:

• All plug and play wiring
• Steering column plastic blank plate
• Custom steering wheel
• Airbag (not brand new - used item can and will show signs of exiting wear and tear)
  

As option 3 includes a fully custom steering wheel, there is a lead time for this product – approximately 4-6 weeks from order to dispatch (shipped to you).

Breakdown of options:

Top Shape:

• The physical shape describing the top steering wheel shape
• As standard, a MK3 steering wheel has: round top
• Wheel shown in images: round top

Bottom Shape:

• The physical shape describing the top steering wheel shape
• As standard, a MK3 steering wheel has: flat bottom
• Wheel shown in images: Flat bottom

Side Material:

• The material used for the left and right side of the steering wheel
• As standard, a MK3 steering wheel has: Perforated leather
• Wheel shown in images: Black alcantara

Top & Bottom Material:

• The carbon material used under the epoxy layer
• As standard, a MK3 steering wheel has: Solid leather
• Wheel shown in images: Weave / twill carbon

Cruise Control Buttons:

• Buttons that control cruise control on MK3 RS
• These buttons serve no purpose in this kit except visual effect – cruise control using these buttons with a stock ECU is not available
• Wheel shown in images: Yes

Material Stitching Color:  

• Color of stitching that holds the material onto the left and right side of the steering wheel
• As standard, a MK3 steering wheel has: Blue stitching
• Wheel shown in images: Blue

Top Dead Centre Stripe:  

• This is the stripe / ring that goes around the circumference at the very top of the steering wheel.
• As standard, a MK3 steering wheel has: No stripe
• Wheel shown in images: Yes, Blue

Button Surround Color:

• This is the color of the bezels that surround the buttons + the hole below the airbag at the bottom of the steering wheel.
• As standard, a MK3 steering wheel has: Silver
