Low Temperature Thermostat (82c) XR5 / MK2 RS

Low temperature thermostat to suit XR5 / MK2 RS.

Intended for owners who demand the absolute most from their cooling system - immediately drops cooling system temperatures by 10c to stay on top of temperatures at track days, hard mountain driving etc. 

Stock thermostat opening temperature: 92c

XRV CP thermostat opening temperature: 82c

This thermostat is a direct replacement for the original unit located inside of the thermostat housing sealed by x3 8mm bolts. Original thermostat seal must be swapped over to new unit when fitting. 

As fitted to @xrv_guy 605whp AWD XR5 - saw no higher than 87c coolant temperatures on a track day with back to back pulls @30psi of boost at the full 605whp.

Using this thermostat with a vehicle retaining stock ecu will not reap the full benefits due to radiator fan trigger temperature points - best results seen with vehicles using aftermarket ECU where fan trigger temperature points can be adjusted.
